Virtual 5k Walk/Run For Breast Cancer
Saturday, November 7, 2020
12:00 PM – 1:30 PM (EST)
Join us for the 2020 Virtual 5K Walk/Run for Breast Cancer
Where: Anywhere you want! You get to pick your favorite location to walk or run!
We recognize that the ongoing uncertainty regarding social distancing and public gatherings will be with us for months to come. With your health and safety our top priority, we have made the difficult decision to take our 2020 5K Walk/Run virtual this year. The celebration will be as much like an in-person Walk/Run as possible.
Hopkins Breast Cancer Virtual 5K Walk/Run for breast cancer awareness will be city-to-city. We will have individuals checking-in from North Carolina, California, New York, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, West Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, and many other states. No matter where you are, you can join us. It will be a day packed with more than just running or walking and it’s happening, rain or shine.
The 5K Walk/Run will be kicked-off by NFL Hall of Fame and former Washington Football Team defensive back Darrell Green. We will also have a silent auction of paintings or drawings from local artists that you can bid on race day or throughout the following week. And yes, there will be entertainment to push you along. We want you to enjoy the fun of coming together for a great cause, positively impacting those going through breast cancer.
Our 5K Walk/Run is a fundraiser event to benefit the Hopkins Breast Cancer Foundation. We are the heartbeat and the helping hand in the cancer community, and we meet the immediate need of those who have breast cancer. Can we count on you to join us on Saturday, November 7, 2020, to participate in our Virtual 5K Walk/Run by Zoom/Facebook Live?

Hopkins Breast Cancer Inc.:
My name is Donna Hopkins, Founder/CEO of Hopkins Breast Cancer Inc., my story. Twenty-two years ago, while sitting at work, I discovered a lump in my breast that was cancerous. Two years after my first diagnosis, cancer returned. I turned my adversity into an opportunity to help others who are being affected by breast cancer. I created Hopkins Breast Cancer Inc., a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization committed to providing financial assistance to men and women in the Washington DC Metropolitan area diagnosed with breast cancer. We are the heartbeat and the helping hand in the cancer community, and we meet the immediate need. We offer financial help from medical or diagnostic services, prostheses, wigs, food, rent, utility bills, childcare, transportation, insurance co-payments, among other services. The everyday need!
We have a 99% approval rate for those breast cancer survivors who apply to the foundation for assistance. I am challenging everyone to get in the fight with me to impact those going through breast cancer. Breast Cancer affects millions of people worldwide, the need is so great, but resources are so few. We need you more than ever.
